Los Angeles: On Wednesday, November 28, 2001 at approximately 11:35 a.m., 18 year-old Travon Ray Ford and a companion were walking along the 1100 block of West 58th Street in Los Angeles, when a black Cadillac pulled up and a passenger inside the vehicle opened fire. Both of the men were hit by the gunfire. The unidentified companion survived. Ford, originally listed as in stable condition, died from his wounds five days later on December 3, 2001 at 10:15 p.m.
Although the motive is unknown, investigating Detectives believe the shooting was gang related.
