Detectives Conduct Homicide Investigation

September 3, 2000

Los Angeles: On Saturday, September 2, 2000, at approximately 7:00 PM., the victim, Herbert Alexsander Lucha, 25 years of age, was standing in front of his residence, located at 833 1/2 West 60th Street when a suspect approached him. An argument ensued between Lucha and the suspect. The argument escalated to a physical altercation when the suspect removed a pocketknife from his pocket and stabbed Lucha one time in the chest.

The suspect fled the scene after the stabbing.

The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he died as a result of his wound.

This incident is being investigated as a gang related homicide.
