"Man Shot While Sitting on Bicycle"

Los Angeles – On October 25, 2000, at approximately 12:10 a.m., 25-year-old Malone Scott, was seated on a bicycle in front of Momma’s Recycling Center, which is located on the 6100 block of Vermont Avenue. An unknown suspect approached Scott on foot and confronted him. After a brief argument, the suspect pulled out a handgun and fired several rounds at Scott. Scott received multiple gunshot wounds to his lower torso, upper torso and head. Scott died at scene. The suspect was last seen on the west side of Vermont Avenue running southbound toward Gage Avenue.

The motive for this shooting is unknown, but appears to be gang related. The suspect and weapon remain outstanding.
