14-Year-Old Bicyclist Shot and Killed $50,000 Reward Being Offered NR11020gb

Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) 77th Division detectives are asking for the public’s help with providing any information that will lead to the arrest of person(s) responsible for the shooting of a 14-year-old boy on his bicycle on December 29, 2010 in South Los Angeles.

At about 7:24 p.m., Taburi Watson was riding his bicycle in a northerly direction on Saint Andrews Place at 87th Street, next to St. Andrews Park and Recreational Center.

Unidentified suspect(s) approached Watson from behind and fired rounds at him.  Watson was struck by gunfire.  He dropped his bicycle in the street and began to run east on 87th Street, where he collapsed.

The suspect(s) left the scene in an unknown direction.   Paramedics rushed to the scene and pronounced Watson dead.
