58-year-old Male Killed by Hit and Run Driver NR15077nv

Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police
Department South Traffic Division detectives are asking for the
public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the
arrest of the suspect responsible for the hit-and-run traffic
collision that killed 58-year-old Elias Aceves, a Los Angeles
resident.

On Tuesday, March 10, 2015, around 9 p.m., Aceves was walking
northbound Portland Street crossing 23rd Street inside a clearly
marked crosswalk when he was struck by a black sedan travelling
westbound on 23rd Street at an excessive speed.

The suspect continued westbound on 23rd Street failing to stop,
identify himself/herself, or render aid to the injured victim, in
violation of 20001VC, Hit and Run Felony.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and
transported the victim to a local hospital, where he later died
from his injuries.

The suspect’s vehicle is described as a black sedan no further
description. There is no suspect description at this time.
