Second Driver Fatally Strikes Female Pedestrian NR15170rh

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department South Traffic Division detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying a hit and run driver who fatally struck a woman in the South Los Angeles Area.

Yesterday, around 8 p.m., a female pedestrian around 40 years of age ran northbound across Florence Avenue from LaSalle Boulevard when she was struck by a vehicle travelling Westbound on Florence Avenue.

Within seconds, a red or dark colored SUV vehicle approached the collision scene travelling Westbound Florence Avenue at a high rate of speed. The driver struck the woman as she lay on the pavement. The driver of the SUV fled the location Westbound on Florence Avenue to Northbound on Western Avenue. The driver failed to stop, render aid, and identify himself or herself.

The first driver that struck the female pedestrian along with the passenger immediately stopped to render aid and identify themselves.

The female pedestrian died at scene from her injuries.

The hit and run vehicle is described as a red or dark colored SUV.
