Captain III Michael C. Williams is the Commanding Officer of Air Support Division. He has been a police officer for over 30 years and has a varied law enforcement background, which includes patrol, detectives and administrative functions within the Los Angeles Police Department.
Captain Williams joined the Los Angeles Police Department in February 1978 after having served as a police officer in a local suburban police department. Since joining the Los Angeles Police Department Captain Williams has worked as a patrol officer, training officer, vice investigator, detective and field supervisor. He has also supervised various administrative and specialized investigative functions. Some of his divisions of assignment have included Southeast and Hollywood Patrol Divisions, Pacific Area Vice, Organized Crime Investigation Division, Metropolitan Division, West Bureau Gangs, Southwest Area Homicide, Internal Affairs Division, Air Support Division, Special Investigation Section, and Gang and Operations Support Division.
Prior to being promoted to his current position, Captain Williams was assigned to Gang and Operations Support Division as the Commanding Officer.
Captain Williams earned his Bachelor's degree in Public Administration from LaVerne College.
