On April 14, 2004, at 1555 hours, suspect was driving westbound on Chick Hearn Court when he collided with the right side of victim’s vehicle northbound on Cherry Street. Suspect fled the scene and abandoned his vehicle a short distance away. Suspect was arrested and misdemeanor charges were filed on April 16, 2004.
It was later learned that victim Juana Deoca Montes, eight years of age, sustained severe head injury and has since died. While the suspect was out on bail on 04-19-07, misdemeanor charges were dismissed, but a felony hit and run case was filed and an arrest warrant issued, for which the suspect may or may not know.
Several attempts to locate and serve the arrest warrant have failed. The Los Angeles Police Department is asking for the publics’ assistance, in locating the suspect. |
