On 10/15/06 at 5:40 PM, suspect Mario Lemus and a second suspect (in custody) are Rancho San Pedro (Hispanic) gang members. Suspects confronted victim Franklin, a male Black, and punched and stomped on his head. Suspects shouted a racial slur during the beating and fled. Victim Franklin was hospitalized and later succumbed to his injuries.
