Ralph's Grocery Store Employee Arrested for Grand Theft

LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT
PRESS RELEASE
Friday, April 30, 1999


On Friday, April 30, 1999, at approximately 4:00 a.m., Lost Prevention Officials of the Ralph's Grocery Store at the 7200 block of Woodman Avenue in the City of Van Nuys, arrested a 5 year employee as a result of an ongoing theft investigation.

The employee was observed loading 149 cartons of cigarettes totaling $4,700.00 in value into the trunk of his vehicle. The property was removed from the rear loading dock area of the store. Store officials are continuing to investigate the theft and are conducting audits at this time.

The suspect was booked at Van Nuys Jail. The investigation is being handled by Burglary Detective D'Alessandro of the Van Nuys Area.
