Hit and Run Driver Kills 24 Year Old Man

Wednesday, April 14, 1999


On April 14, 1999 at 2:10 a.m., the victim was preparing to enter his parked vehicle which was parked at the south curve on Ventura Boulevard west of Blue Canyon Drive. A 1997 Ford F-150 pick up truck, approaching eastbound on Ventura Boulevard collided with the victim and fled the location. The impact propelled the victim into the front seat of an open convertible vehicle, which was parked in front of his vehicle. The victim was pronounced dead at the location due to the massive injuries received during the collision. The victim has been identified as Trent Michael Illig, a 24 year old Male.

The Hit & Run vehicle is described as a possible 1997 Ford F-150 pick up truck, with a broken right front headlamp.
