"Man Dies after being Shot Several Times"

Los Angeles - On Sunday, April 23, 2000, at 9:45 p.m., Newton Community Police Station officers responded to an "Ambulance Shooting" radio call in the 400 block of East 62nd Street. Upon arrival officers observed a male black victim lying in the street suffering from several gunshot wounds. The victim (who has not been identified) was transported to Martin Luther King Jr. Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

There are no suspects in custody, and a motive for the shooting has not been determined.
