Murder Suspect Sought

"Murder Suspect Sought"

Los Angeles - On April 3, 2000, at approximately 10:00 p.m., victims David Ramsey and Kerson Vaughn were inside their residence at 9315 South Broadway. Three suspects knocked at the front door and asked if a particular named person was there. As Ramsey opened the door, one of the suspects stepped into the doorway of the residence and began shooting, striking Ramsey. The suspect then proceeded inside the residence where he shot and killed Kerson Vaughn as he slept in bed.

Kerson Vaughn expired at the scene, and David Ramsey is currently listed in stable condition at an area hospital. All three suspects fled from the area on foot.

Southeast Homicide Detectives have identified the suspect as Jomo Kenyatta McGee male Black, 22 years of age. The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office filed murder charges against McGee. Jomo McGee is also wanted for various criminal charges in Riverside and San Diego Counties.

On Monday, April 10, 2000, at 2:00 p.m., Southeast Homicide Detectives Bill Smith and Louis Paglialonga, will hold a press conference in front of Southeast Community Police Station, at 145 W. 108th Street.

The victim's family will be in attendance to request the Public's Assistance in capturing the suspect. A photograph of the suspect will be available to the media for viewing.
