"24 Year Old Killed Leaving Local Taco Stand"

 

Los Angeles - On Monday morning, April 16, 2001, at approximately 12:46AM, Rampart patrol officers responded to an "Ambulance Shooting" radio call at 4666 Santa Monica Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers found the victim shot inside his vehicle. The Los Angeles Fire Department Rescue Ambulance 52 arrived at the scene and pronounced the victim dead at 1:10AM.

The investigation revealed the victim and witnesses were leaving the Gran Burrito Restaurant parking lot, located at 4716 Santa Monica Boulevard, when the suspects confronted them. The suspect fired several rounds into the vehicle, striking the victim in the head.

The witnesses drove to a nearby gas station, where they summoned help. The suspect left the location in a grey Honda Civic, unknown license plate and drove Southbound on New Hampshire Avenue. The suspect, vehicle and weapon are outstanding.

The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of his next of kin.
