"Public's Help Needed in Locating Homicide Suspect"

West Los Angeles Community Police Station, 1663 Butler Avenue, West Los Angeles

Los Angeles - West Los Angeles Homicide detectives are investigating the strangulation death of Maria Del Pilar Mendez, a 23-year-old female Hispanic. The victim was found on April 14, 2001 at 5:30 p.m. inside the garage located at 1461 Federal Avenue.

Homicide detectives are asking for the public's help in locating Marcos Diaz for questioning. He is described as a male Hispanic, brown hair, brown eyes, 5'7", 180 lbs. Marcos Diaz is the husband of the victim and had recently been seen in the Santa Monica, West Los Angeles and Downtown Los Angeles areas.
