Murder/Suicide Investigation

"Murder/Suicide Investigation"

 

Los Angeles - Rampart Homicide Detectives are investigating the Murder/Suicide death of a twenty-seven year old male Black, and a three-year old, male Black.

On Sunday afternoon, April 22, 2001 at approximately 3:30 p.m., Rampart patrol Officers responded to a Homicide investigation, at 1717 South Vermont Avenue at the Vermont Motel. Upon their arrival at the location, witnesses led the officers up to room #102 where the bodies of both individuals were found in the room with gunshot wounds. Rescue ambulance responded to the location and pronounced death.

The investigation revealed the male rented a room on Saturday afternoon, April 21, 2001 and was accompanied by the child. They both checked out and returned on Sunday afternoon at approximately 1:30 p.m., and rented another room for two hours.

The manager attempted to make contact with them at approximately 3:30 p.m. by calling them on the phone. There was no answer at which time the manager entered the locked room and discovered the bodies.

The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
