Homicide Investigation

 

Los Angeles - On Monday, April 23, 2001 at approximately 9:30 p.m., Rampart Patrol Officers responded to a radio call, to the rear of 659 North Berendo Street. Upon arrival officers observed the victim down suffering from gunshot wounds to his upper torso. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the location and pronounced the victim dead at scene. The victim has been identified as Esteban Pule, 32 year old, resident of Los Angeles.

The investigation revealed the victim was in the parking lot to the rear of 659 North Berendo Street. Witnesses heard gunshots and observed the victim fall to the ground. A white Toyota was seen leaving the scene eastbound in the alley.

The motive for the shooting is believed to be gang related, as the victim is a known gang member, the vehicle, weapon and the suspect or suspects are outstanding.
