LAPD/Community Interfaith Day of Prayer Service

Los Angeles - On Sunday, May 20, 2001, at 6:30 p.m., The Chief’s Religious Forum is sponsoring a Los Angeles Police Department/Community Interfaith Day of Prayer Service at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 3115 South Vermont Avenue, Los Angeles. The service will be highlighted by the attendance of Chief Bernard C. Parks, police officers with their families, clergy, and community members of various religious faiths. Department Chaplains and interfaith clergy representatives will respond from throughout the City.

With a theme of service to our fellow beings, the LAPD/Community Interfaith Day of Prayer will celebrate and acknowledge the commitment to public service of men and women of the Los Angeles Police Department.

Through hymns, spiritual readings and verbal reflections, thanksgiving prayers will be offered for officers and their families. The general public is invited to attend the service and provide support for the Los Angeles Police Department.
