Homicide Victim Found On Sidewalk Near Church Playground

Los Angeles - On Saturday morning April 28, 2001, at approximately 2:15 a.m., 25 year old Eliterio Ponce was discovered dead on the sidewalk. He was lying adjacent to the playground of the Baptist Miracle Church at 8300 South Central Avenue. A coroners Investigator responded and his investigation revealed Mr. Ponce had sustained a single gunshot wound to the chest.

At this time no motive has been established, there is no suspect information and no weapon has been found.

The investigation is being conducted by 77th Street Homicide Detectives Armando Bernal and Richard Jackson. They can be reached at 213-485-1385 or information can be given to the Watch Commanded at 213-485-2389.
