Los Angeles: On Wednesday, April 9, 2003, at approximately 3:30 p.m., 21 year-old Wilbur Banks Jr. was standing on the sidewalk in the 800 block of east 120^th Street. An unknown suspect(s) approached Banks and fired multiple shots at him. Banks ran several yards before collapsing in the courtyard of a nearby apartment complex.

Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics transported Banks to a local hospital where he died as a result of his injuries.

The motive appears to be gang related. The weapons and suspect(s) remain outstanding.
