Police to Conduct Crime Task Force in North Hollywood Area

"Police to Conduct Crime Task Force in North Hollywood Area"

Los Angeles – On Tuesday, April 16, 2003, dozens of Los Angeles Police Department officers from North Hollywood Area, Valley Traffic Division, and Valley Bureau Headquarters will focus on violent crime and community quality of life issues in an effort to reduce crime in the San Fernando Valley.

The targeted area is roughly bordered by the Golden State Freeway on the north, Kittridge Street on the south, the Tujunga Wash on the west and the City of Burbank to the east.

Operations will commence at approximately 7:00 a.m., and will continue past midnight. There will be a zero-tolerance policy for traffic violations and criminal acts in the affected area.

Past task forces in other parts of the Valley have resulted in hundreds of traffic citations and vehicle impounds, and dozen of arrest.

For further information, contact Commander Michael Moore, Commanding Officer Operations Valley Bureau, at 818-756-8303, Captain Michael Moriarty, Commanding Officer of North Hollywood Division at 818-756-8332, or Captain Greg Meyer Commanding Officer of Valley Traffic Division at 818-756-8722.

This media advisory was prepared by Public Information Officer Grace Brady, Media Relations Section, 213-485-3586.
