"Man Shot Dead While Painting House"

 

Los Angeles: On Sunday, April 20, 2003, at 12:50 p.m., Los Angeles resident Jose Candido Torres, a 33 year-old male Hispanic, was killed as he was painting the front door to his home located in the 200 block of East 47th Place.

Torres was painting his door when an acquaintance, identified as 29 year-old Los Angeles resident Jimmar Salgado, shot him several times in the torso with a handgun. After shooting Torres, Salgado left the location and was later arrested by Newton Area Homicide Detectives.
