Los Angeles: On Sunday, April 20, 2003, at 12:50 p.m., Los Angeles resident Jose Candido Torres, a 33 year-old male Hispanic, was killed as he was painting the front door to his home located in the 200 block of East 47^th Place.

Torres was painting his door when an acquaintance, identified as 29 year-old Los Angeles resident Jimmar Salgado, shot him several times in the torso with a handgun. After shooting Torres, Salgado left the location and was later arrested by Newton Area Homicide Detectives.
