"LAPD to Conduct Crime Task Force in West Valley"
Los Angeles: On Wednesday, April 23, 2003, dozens of Los
Angeles Police Department officers from West Valley Area, Valley Traffic
Division and Valley Bureau Headquarters will focus on violent crime and
community quality of life issues in an effort to reduce crime in the San
Fernando Valley.
The target zone is bordered by Roscoe Boulevard on the north, Lindley
Avenue on the east, Mason Avenue on the west and Sherman Way on the south.
Operations will commence at 8:00 a.m., and continue past midnight. There
will be zero tolerance for traffic violations and criminal acts in the
affected area. Recent past task forces in other parts of the Valley have
resulted in hundreds of traffic citations, vehicle impounds, and dozens of
arrests.
