32 Year-Old Man Killed In Drive By Shooting

Los Angeles: Wilshire Area Homicide Detectives are investigating the shooting death of 32 year-old Carlos Rene Rivas, a resident of the Mid Wilshire area.

On April 5, 2004, at about 1:00 a.m., Mr. Rivas was standing on the 1200 block of Kingsley Avenue with several of his friends when a green taxi approached the group and fired several rounds in their direction. Mr. Rivas was struck with gunfire and fell to the ground.

Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded and pronounced Mr. Rivas dead at scene. The motive is unknown and the suspect(s) are outstanding.
