Los Angeles: Wilshire Area Homicide Detectives are investigating the murder of a 31 year-old Hispanic man.

On Saturday, April 10, 2004, at about 2:30 p.m., Wilshire Area patrol officers responded to a shooting call in the 3000 block of 11th Street. The officers located the victim on the sidewalk suffering from gunshot wounds. Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.

Witnesses advised the officers that the victim was working on his vehicle at the location when a lone gunman approached the victim on foot and shot him for no apparent reason. The suspect was described as a male Hispanic about 18 years of age, 5’ 4" to 5’ 7" tall, heavy set with thick eyebrows. The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification to his family.

The motive is unknown.
