Detectives Seek Clues In Shooting Death

Los Angeles: On April 18, 2004 at approximately 6:30 p.m., Rampart patrol officers responded to investigate the report of a man being shot at 1625 South New Hampshire Avenue. Upon the officers arrival they observed a man down in the street suffering from a gunshot wound. Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded and transported the victim to USC Medical Center where he died from his injuries.

The investigation has revealed the victim was standing in the roadway in front of the above location. An unknown number of suspects approached the victim and shot him in the head. There were no eyewitnesses to the shooting, there is no information on the suspects, the weapon is not in custody, and no motive for the shooting is known. The victim is a male Hispanic, approximately 28 years of age and his identity is not being released at this time.
