National Police Week Memorial Ceremony

Los Angeles: On Monday, May 3, 2004, at 1:00 p.m., Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) will commemorate National Police Week with a memorial ceremony. The LAPD will pay tribute to the 194 fallen officers since 1907. This year in addition to honoring the fallen officers of the distant and recent past, the LAPD will remember Detective Abiel (Abe) Barron and Police Officer Richard Lizarraga who died while protecting the lives of others. The names of Detective Barron and Police Officer Lizarraga will join the 194 others who are inscribed on the granite memorial in front of Parker Center.

The Memorial Ceremony will take place at Los Angeles Police Department, Parker Center, 150 North Los Angeles Street.
