Man Stabbed to Death in Wilshire Area

 

Los Angeles: Homicide detectives are investigating the stabbing death of a man on West 1st Street in Wilshire Area on Sunday night.

On April 17, 2005 at about 10:00 p.m., the suspect was walking on 1st Street toward Hayworth Avenue. The suspect confronted the victim and stabbed him. The suspect ran from the scene on foot, eastbound on 1st Street toward Fairfax Avenue.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.

The suspect is described as a 35-40 year old black male, standing 6'0" tall, weighing approximately 180 lbs., with a beard and wearing dark clothing.

The motive appears to be robbery.

The name of the victim is being withheld until the family can be notified.

The Los Angeles Police Department is asking for the public's assistance. Anyone with information is asked to call Wilshire Homicide Detectives Cade or Holguin at 213-473-0551.
