Theft of Science Exhibit Specimen

Revised

Los Angeles: On March 26, 2005, a specimen from the Body Worlds exhibit was stolen from the California Science Center in Exposition Park. The specimen was a plastinated (preserved in plastic) 13-week-old fetus.

Detectives have released two composite sketches of female suspects, who were described by a witness to the theft. Detectives also released a photograph of a note the suspects left in a guest book at the exhibit. The note reads:

"Amazing* 3/25/05 Although it'd be better had the 15-19 wk old fetus hadn't been stolen. 3:00 AM (ish) -- Susan"
