Car Show and LAPD Recruitment Fair

What:
Inaugural “Five-O for Teens” Car Show and Recruitment Fair

When:
Sunday, April 9, 2006
8:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Where:
Leimert Park, 43rd Street and Degnan Boulevard

Who:
1st Assistant Chief Jim McDonnell
Assistant Chief Sharon Papa
Deputy Chief Earl C. Paysinger
Commander Kenneth Garner, Personnel Group
Captain James E. Craig, Southwest Police Station
Councilman Bernard Parks, 8th Council District

Why:
The purpose of this event is to raise funds to support Youth Programs.  LAPD recruiters will be present to test potential candidates for Police Officer and Community Police Aide, and new interim position to becoming a police officer.

The car show and recruitment drive are sponsored by Los Angeles Police Department, Councilman Bernard Parks, and Community Build, Inc.  

Highlights:
Classic cars, jumpers for children, vendors, food, and entertainment.  Free parking will be available at 4305 Degnan Boulevard (parking lot), corner of 43rd Street and Degnan Boulevard.
