Child Abducted by Biological Mother - UPDATED

UPDATE: On April 16, 2006, a citizen’s telephone call led police to a location in the Canoga Park Area. The child was unharmed and the suspect was taken into custody.

Los Angeles:
The Los Angeles Police Department and a worried foster parent are asking for the public's help in locating 6-year-old Karina Mora Garcia, who has taken by her biological mother yesterday.

On Saturday, April 15, 2006, at about 8:00 p.m., the foster parent took Karina to the McDonald’s restaurant located at Sherman Way and Geyser in Reseda, for a supervised visit with her biological mother, Daisi Garcia, 45-years-old. During the visit Daisi took Karina and left the restaurant.

Daisi Garica had her parental rights suspended by Department of Children and Family Services due to suspected physical child abuse and drug use allegations. Karina was placed with a foster parent and was under the jurisdiction of the Dependency Court.

Karina Mora Garcia is described as a female Hispanic with brown hair, brown eyes, 3'6” tall and 48 pounds. She was last seen wearing a red and white short sleeve T-shirt with the logo “What Else is New”, yellow and white overall shorts, white and green striped socks and white sandals. .

The mother Daisi Garcia is described as a female Hispanic heavy built with brown hair, brown eyes, 5’3” tall, and weighing 150 pounds. She has curly hair and a large tattoo on her lower back. She was last wearing a brown snake printed shirt, brown pants and a brown vest.

Detectives believe Daisi Garcia may be on her way to Miami, Florida. She is allegedly homeless with no access to a car.
