Reward Offer for Murdered Girl

Los Angeles: LAPD is asking for the public's help in identifying the person(s) responsible for the death of a young girl.

On March 9, 1983, at about 2:30 p.m.,Victoria Brown 8 years old at the time, was walking home from school. She was on the 9600 block of Anzac Avenue, just a few doors from her home when she was kidnapped. Victoria's body was found the next day in an abandoned car near in the area of "Q" Street and Blinn Avenue in Wilmington.

Victoria had been sexually assaulted and strangled to death. On the day she was kidnapped, witnesses saw a blue van stop near Victoria. They also described a man who standing next to the van. He was described as a male Hispanic with brown wavy hair 5' 9" to 6' 0", 130 to 150 pounds, 25 to 30 years old. The suspect likely lived or worked in Wilmington or Watts neighborhoods.
