Woman Found Shot to Death in Her Car
Los Angeles: The dead body of an adult female was found in her car on Jefferson Boulevard in Los Angeles yesterday afternoon.
On Wednesday, April 25, 2006, at approximately 12:30 pm., officers were dispatched to a radio call for a dead body in the 5800 block of Jefferson Boulevard.
When officers arrived they found a female Black, later identified as 35-year-old Taja Jones, of Los Angeles. Jones had been reported missing by co-workers five days earlier, when she failed to pick up her child from a babysitter.
According to witnesses, Jones' body was discovered by pedestrians as they walked near her parked vehicle. The investigation revealed Jones suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head. Both her body and car were taken to the Coroner’s office for further analysis.
No suspects have been identified and no motive has been established.
