Traffic Awareness News Conference

Traffic Awareness and Pedestrian Violation Enforcement Operation

11th Avenue and Slauson Avenue
South Los Angeles

Why:
On March 13, 2007, at around 7:35 A.M., two Crenshaw High School students attempting to cross the street, were struck by a car and severely injured. One of the students is currently recovering from her injuries, while 14-year-old Jose Luis Ramon died in the hospital a day later.

To make motorist aware to stop for pedestrians, a pedestrian enforcement operation will be conducted at 11th Avenue and Slauson Avenue, as well as other identified intersections.
