LAPD Academy Graduation
WHAT: LAPD Graduation of 45 New Officers

WHO: Assistant Chief Earl Paysinger, Acting Chief of Police
Representatives from the Board of Commissioners and Mayor’s Office
Police Department Command Staff and their special guests
WHY: Graduating officers have completed 1,064 hours of training over the course of 32 weeks. There are 35 males and 10 females in the graduating class.
The ethnic breakdown of the class is 10 Caucasians, 23 Hispanics,
6 African American, 2 Korean, 1 Chinese, 1 Japanese, and 1 Vietnamese.
Additionally, 6 lateral officers will graduate with the regular recruit class. These lateral officers, 5 males and 1 female, are experienced peace officers who have been certified by the Los Angeles Police Department after serving with another California law enforcement agency and completing a two-month lateral officer academy.
