WHY:
The City of Los Angeles is offering a $50,000 reward and asking the public’s help in locating a murder suspect.  

The victim, Rosa Garcia, a 35-year-old resident of South Los Angeles, was discovered deceased in an alley on January 13, 2008.  Ms. Garcia was known to frequent the El Tiburon and the Nuevo Reno bar, both of which are located in the immediate area.  

A surveillance video clip will be made available during the press conference.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call 77th Street Homicide Detective Bill Ritch or Roger Guzman at 213-485-1383.  After hours calls may be directed to the 24-hour toll-free number at 1-877-LAPD-24-7 or the texting CRIMES (274637) and beginning the message with the letters LAPD.  Tipsters can also submit information on the LAPD website www.lapdonline.org.  All tips are anonymous.
