LAPD Reserve Police Officers Receive Recognition for their Volunteer Service to the City NA16066rh

WHAT:
The Los Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles Police Reserve Foundation will honor reserve officers for distinguished service to the City at the Twice A Citizen Awards. Reserve Officer, Bernard Khalili will also be awarded the "Medaille d' honneur de la Police Nationale" (Honor Medal of French National Police), the highest police medal bestowed by France's National Police Force.

WHY:
This is the first time in history that the French National Police will bestow their highest medal to a police officer in the United States. It is only given in exceptional cases for acts of courage or exceptional service to national or foreign police officers. The Twice A Citizen Awards provides the LAPD with the opportunity to acknowledge reserve police officers who have provided distinguished service to the City of Los Angeles. The reserve officers and community volunteers have donated their personal time to keep our city safe.
