in a case containing a Vyazemsky bow

Has a two-piece maple back that is cut on the quarter with broad flame that slants upward from the center joint toward the flanks. The entire instrument is inlaid with a double purfling with an additional inlay at the top and bottom of the back. The button of the back has an ebony cap. The wood of the ribs matches the back. The two lower ribs are separated by two pieces of purfling about 5mm apart. The maple scroll has narrow deep flame. The two-piece spruce top has medium grain that widens toward the flanks. The instrument is covered with an orange-brown varnish over a pale golden ground.
