LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT
PRESS RELEASE
Monday, August 23, 1999

Hollenbeck Homicide Detectives are investigating the gang-related shooting death of 17 year old Antonio Campos Roman. The shooting occurred in the drive-in market located in the 3700 block of East Olympic Boulevard on July 8, 1999, at approximately 1:30 a.m.

The victim was talking with a male employee of the market when a white, two-door compact car, containing four suspects entered the market driveway. The front seat passenger got out of the car, took out a semi-automatic handgun from his waist band, and shot the victim several times. The shooter got back in the car and they all fled east bound on Olympic Boulevard from the market.

The victim subsequently succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Los Angeles County Coroners Office removed the victim from the scene.
