Hollywood Rapist Crime Alert

LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT
PRESS RELEASE
Friday, August 6, 1999

On June 18, 1999, between 7:30 and 8:30 AM, a 13-year old female white was walking in the 1600 block of North Taft Avenue. The victim saw a male adult suspect seated in a parked car. The suspect drove his car into a driveway and attempted to block the victims path with the vehicle. The victim walked around the vehicle and away from the suspect. She did not see the suspect again until she was in the vicinity of Fountain Ave and Ridgewood Place. At that location, the suspect approached her from the rear and forced her into his vehicle. They drove to the carports behind the apartments in the 5700 block of La Mirada Avenue, where the suspect sexually assaulted the victim. The male ordered the victim from his car and drove away.

The suspect is described as male, possible Hispanic, 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall, 150 to 170 pounds, 20-25 years old. The suspect has "teardrop" type tattoos under the corners of both eyes and a tattoo on his abdomen that is writing in Gothic letters. He has very short hair or a shaved head.

The suspect's vehicle is a possible 1985 to 1989 Honda Civic, 4 door, black, with a tan interior.

Any information for Hollywood Division Detectives at 213-485-4321 from 7 AM to 4 PM or off-hours to Detective Headquarters Division at 213-485-2504.
