Victim is Fatally Shot near Venice

Thursday, August 12, 1999



On Thursday August 12, 1999, at approximately 4:15 am, Pacific Area patrol officers responded to an ambulance shooting call in the 500 block of Brooks Avenue, in the Oakwood area of Venice. Upon arrival, the officers discovered the victim of a shooting, a male, light-skinned African-American or Hispanic in his early 20's. Life saving efforts by Los Angeles City Fire Department paramedics were to no avail. The victim has not been identified at this time. The Los Angeles Police Department is seeking the assistance of the community with this case. If you have any information, please call Pacific Homicide Detectives at 310-202-4513.
