Night Clerk Fatally Shot During Robbery

LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT
PRESS RELEASE


Rampart Detectives are investigating the shooting death of Mohammed Khaled, a male Indian, 26 years of age.

The victim was employed as a night clerk at the ARCO AM/PM Mini Market located at 6th Street and Catalina Street. On August 9, 1999, at approximately 1:30 a.m., the victim was discovered down behind the counter. Police and paramedics were summoned and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation revealed that at approximately 1:20 a.m., the victim was shot and killed during an apparent robbery at the mini market. The victim had sustained a single gunshot wound to the body.

There is no description of the suspect. The store's security cameras were not operational at the time of the occurrence.
