Homicide Detectives Investigate Fatal Shooting

Monday, August 16, 1999


Rampart Homicide Detectives are investigating the shooting death of a male Hispanic, 28 years of age.

On August 16, 1999, at approximately 1:45 am, witnesses observed the victim stumbling between parked vehicles in front of the 500 block of South Rampart Boulevard. The victim was bloodied and attempting to enter a red vehicle, which was double-parked at the location. The witnesses summoned paramedics and the police.

The victim was transported by rescue ambulance to L.A.C.G.H. where he succumbed to his wounds.

The investigation revealed the victim had been shot once in the chest. . A motive for this crime has not been established. No suspect description is available. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending the notification of the next of kin.
