Unknown Victim is Fatally Shot During Dispute

Victim, John Doe, male Black, 16/20 years old

On Friday night, August 6, 1999, at approximately 10:15 pm, the victim was seated in the back seat of a vehicle, which was parked in the middle of the street in front of the Vernon R. Byrd Child Development Center, located in the 4700 block of S. Wilton Place, Los Angeles. The victim and unknown companions confronted unknown suspects. An argument ensued into a shooting. The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the head and died at the scene. Suspects and weapon remain outstanding.

The investigation is being conducted by LAPD South Bureau Homicide Detectives. Anyone with information concerning this incident is requested to call South Bureau Homicide at Telephone No. 213-847-1310.
