South Bureau Homicide Investigates Murder at 39th and Dalton

LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT
PRESS RELEASE
Thursday, August 26, 1999

On Thursday evening, August 25, 1999 at approximately 11:30 p.m., a 40 year-old male Black was standing in the area near the southwest corner of 39th Street and Dalton Avenue. He was accosted by unknown suspect(s) driving a small red vehicle. Words were exchanged at which time several shots were fired. The victim ran southbound where he collapsed in front of 3909 Dalton Avenue. The suspect(s) fled eastbound on 39th Street. Paramedics were called to the scene and pronounced death at 11:30 p.m.

The motive for the shooting is unknown. The suspect(s) and murder weapon is outstanding. South Bureau Homicide detectives are handling the investigation. Anyone with information on this case, please call 213-847-1310.
