Victim of Stabbing Dies in her Residence

LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT
PRESS RELEASE
Tuesday, August 3, 1999

On August 3, 1999 at approximately 11:40 pm, Van Nuys patrol officers were flagged down by Robert Carson, Age 34. Carson requested a "welfare check" on his girlfriend, Leah Thomas, age 21, who he had not seen for several days. Officers went to Thomas's apartment in the 7100 block of Woodman Avenue. Upon entering the apartment they found Thomas dead in the bedroom. She died as a result of multiple stab wounds.

Carson has been detained and is being questioned at Van Nuys Operations Support Division. The murder weapon is outstanding.
