Sunday, August 13, 2000



"Drive-By Shooting Claims a Life"

Los Angeles: On August 13, 2000, at 4:25pm, two individuals were standing in front of the Daly Market at 2235 Daly Street. A blue mini van containing four male Hispanics pulled to the curb. The four males fired several rounds from two different weapons at the two men standing in front of the market. Julio Vasquez sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the upper torso and his companion sustained a single gunshot wound to the left leg. Both victims were transported to a local hospital for further treatment.

Victim Vasquez failed to respond to treatment and and was pronounced dead at 4:45pm. The second victim remains hospitalized in serious but stable condition.

Hollenbeck Detectives are investigating this incident and are asking anyone with information to call 323-526-3002.
