"Motorcyclist Involved in a Fatal Traffic Collision"

Pacific Palisades - On Saturday, August 26, 2000 at approximately 6:23pm, a fatal traffic collision occurred in the 17600 block of Pacific Coast Highway. A motorcycle rider was southbound on Pacific Coast Highway when the motorcyclist collided with a motor vehicle as the motorcyclist was passing between traffic lanes. The rider lost control of the motorcycle, collided with a guardrail and was thrown from the motorcycle. The rider went over the embankment and came to rest on a stairwell that leads to the beach. Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and provided treatment, however the rider did not respond and died at the scene.

The victim has been identified as Laura Lee Edwards, a 44 year old resident of Tarzana.

The driver of the other vehicle was not detained or cited. The Investigation is being conducted by West Traffic Detectives and can be contacted at 213-473-0227.
