Los Angeles: On Thursday, August 9, 2001, Southwest Community Police Station will host a blood drive for the American Red Cross. The blood drive will be a memorial for Officer Fil Cuesta who was murdered in the line of duty while serving the Southwest Community. Officer Cuesta died on August 9, 1998, from a gunshot wound, and his killer was recently convicted for murder. This will be the first annual blood drive in memory of Officer Cuesta, and it will take place on the third anniversary of his death.
The American Red Cross Bloodmobile will be at the Southwest Community Police Station located at 1546 West Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Los Angeles, from 6:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. on August 9, 2001.
