Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department, Valley Traffic Division, Community Traffic Services Unit will be hosting its 2nd Annual Traffic Summit on Thursday, August 30, 2001.

The focus of this year’s Traffic Summit will be on school traffic issues that impact our San Fernando Valley schools and community. These include speeding, double parking, pedestrian traffic, engineering issues, traffic education, and enforcement. City Councilman Dennis P. Zine, Third District, will be this year’s Keynote Speaker.
School traffic safety is a critical community problem that we all face. Our goal is to gather the best team of experts, problem-solvers and leaders to discuss these concerns so that we may take a proactive approach to finding solutions to make our school zones safer.

The Traffic Summit is by invitation only. A continental breakfast will be provided to invited participants and news media, compliments of the Airtel Plaza Hotel beginning at 8:00 a.m. The media is cordially invited to come and cover the event and partake in the continental breakfast.
